Rondo in C major K.373

By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart's lovely rondo for violin and small orchestra, although composed in 1781, was not published until about one hundred years later. A slightly unusual feature of this animated piece is the space it leaves for a cadenza. More commonly cadenzas appear in concertos, but the rondo allows for either an improvisation or pre-written passage over four chords held by the accompanying orchestra or piano for four measures.
