Violin Concerto No.1 in A minor BWV 1041

By Johann Sebastian Bach

About eight years after completing this concerto, Bach had arranged it for the harpsichord. It is known as Clavier Concerto in G minor, BWV 1058. It was not uncommon for composers in Bach's time to reuse melodies in multiple pieces, as they needed to compose many in short amounts of time and for contrasting instrumentation. The A minor concerto has become essential in the repertoire of any classical violinist.
