Bach had written four Orchestral Suites also called 'ouvertures'. The Gavotte comes after the famous 'Air' or 'Air on the G string' in Bach's third Suite and works as an excellent study as well as performance piece on its own. This arrangement by Julius Klengel and Carl Reinecke was repurposed from cello to violin and viola.
