Bach has used his Arioso in two pieces. The earliest can be found as the first movement (Sinfonia) of Bach's Cantata "Ich steh mit einem Fuß im Grabe" or "I am standing with one foot in the grave" BWV 156. The second is used in the 2nd movement (Largo) Harpsichord Concerto No.5 (Concerto pour clavecin n 5), in F minor, BWV 1056.
